Di Marzio: Donnarumma meeting to be staged in next seven days – Milan’s priorities clear

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s priority at the moment is to get Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal over the line with a crucial meeting expected soon, it is claimed.

We reported earlier in the week via our market expert Vito Angele that Donnarumma’s renewal is a formality, and during a meeting between the soon-to-be manager Ralf Rangnick and CEO Ivan Gazidis in December, the German was told that the Rossoneri intend to extend the goalkeeper’s contract.

Paolo Maldini insisted it is the club’s “duty” to try and hold on to such a talented young asset during an interview before the game against Roma, and positive signs have since arrived from the media.

According to what reported by Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Milan have made Donnarumma’s renewal their priority for the moment.

A meeting with Mino Raiola could be staged between Friday and the beginning of next week, in which the Rossoneri will put their proposal on the table.

In the event of a failure to agree Gigio will not go away on a free transfer but will most likely be sold in order to generate capital gains.
