Di Marzio: Ekitike opportunity to Colombo staying – latest on Milan’s striker pursuit

AC Milan will only sign a new striker if the opportunity is right and it is also entirely possible the attacking department could stay as it is, Gianluca Di Marzio claims.

Di Marzio spoke on Sky (via Radio Rossonera) last night and he gave an update on Milan’s pursuit of a new centre-forward, stating that the management will intervene if an ‘interesting opportunity’ emerges.

Otherwise, Lorenzo Colombo will remain with Noah Okafor and Olivier Giroud as the options for the striker role. Hugo Ekitike remains a player that Milan have probed, but if PSG ask for a permanent deal or a loan with obligation then it is not possible.

If the Ligue 1 champions open up to a loan with option to buy then he is an option that Milan can think about more concretely, but the journalist added an interesting line: “Milan believe they have already done everything needed to strengthen the squad.”

There have been some tentative rumours linking Romelu Lukaku with a move, as have Roma, but Di Marzio states that Mauricio Pochettino wants to talk to the Belgian to see if there is the possibility of reintegrating him.
