Di Marzio explains how Milan have ‘matured’ compared to last season

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have started this season in the same way as the last one, with 13 points after the first five games. We are already seeing some important indications, though, one of which involves playing at San Siro.

Last season, the Rossoneri were absolutely stunning away from home (one of the best in Europe) but struggled at San Siro. This time out, though, they have already made it clear that they won’t be pushed around at the stadium.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Gianluca Di Marzio shared his thoughts on this Milan side. In addition to saying that they have a more complete squad now, he highlighted the home aspect and how they have matured.

“Last year, Milan were doing very well away, this year they started well at home. Milan have matured even more than last year, even if they have to deal with a tad too many injuries. I believe that Milan have everything to play for, they have a more complete squad and with more alternatives than last year. It is also true, however, that this season they play the Champions League and it will be necessary to see how much it will weigh,” he stated.

Milan will face Spezia this afternoon (15:00 CEST) and they will be looking for revenge after losing this fixture 2-0 last season. Hopefully, they will succeed as they want to continue their unbeaten run.
