Di Marzio: Fonseca’s Milan arrival delayed until July – the reason behind the wait

AC Milan will appoint Paulo Fonseca as their next head coach shortly. However, they will have to wait until July for him to arrive fully, Gianluca Di Marzio states.

It seems that Milan have settled on their next head coach to take the reigns from Stefano Pioli, and it will be Fonseca. The Portuguese manager has a difficult task ahead of him, but he has a strong base to work from.

Regardless of the events of this season, it can be argued that the Rossoneri have a more complete side than they have in previous seasons, and with further investment, this will only be bettered as time progresses.

Therefore, perhaps now Pioli is leaving at the optimal time. Results, of course, have been the poor part of the season, but this is where a new coach can inspire and offer new ideas to the players, which will be welcomed.

The areas that need investment are already known, so the handover period will be at a minimum in that respect, but he will not be with the squad until July, according to Di Marzio (via Milan News).

As the journalist states, he will arrive in Italy after the 6th of July, due to ‘tax reasons’, but there are no qualms about this.
