Di Marzio: Dortmund striker shows ‘great enthusiasm’ towards Milan move – price set

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan want to sign another striker after the arrival of Alvaro Morata was secured and they are moving towards Niclas Fullkrug, a report claims.

Yesterday was ‘Morata Day’ as the Spaniard put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the option for a fifth after undergoing his medical and he should soon be officially announced as a new Milan player.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that the Rossoneri’s intention is to go out and get another striker after the Spaniard so that they have sufficient cover in that position for what will be a long season.

The main target remains Niclas Fullkrug of Borussia Dortmund, and talks have been held with the player’s entourage in recent days, which have been positive. In fact, the Germany international has given his full approval to the idea and showed ‘great enthusiasm’.

Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Fullkrug is at least €15m, which is not an insignificant amount for a 31-year-old but is similar to what was paid for Morata. Now Milan will have to decide whether to open negotiations with the German club.

Fullkrug – who scored 12 goals and added eight assists in 29 Bundesliga games with Dortmund last season – seems to be keen to leave after Serhou Guirassy was signed, which will probably reduce his playing time.

  1. Why are they so focused on something we don’t need sign Pavlovic and fofana then sign fullkreg or Abraham, this club is stupid, especially since they can’t make a proper offer for a player, for fofana they offered 50% then his actual value. If you want to win anything you have to spend money but they don’t want to

    1. Milan will settle around 20 million, which is what they usually pay for a player in the last year of their contract. Anything more is not reasonable. I do believe we will get Fofana. Samardzic and Richard Rios were also mentioned, but the first has a problematic agent.

  2. Come on Milan just do the right thing now we have a cheap decent striker to compliment t Mr x. I want to hear Julian alvarez is Mr x. Let us dream

    1. You’re joking, right? Milan would/should pay 100M for alvarez who’d get dry @n@led in serie a anyway? After we already got a starting ST in morata?

FM managers and their brilliant ideas.. sigh

    2. Alvarez averages what 10 goals a season and he’s a midget. I’m not sure where you get the idea that he’s a great striker from.

      1. You should seen this forum a few years ago when Alvarez was transferring to City. PPL were begging for Alvarez. It’s the same way every summer. The next new shiny player has one good season somewhere and people start clamoring for the club to spend 100M on them.

        1. At that time he would’ve been great. We needed someone and he went to shîty and we got lazetic. Yes 👌 5M very well spent. We got a whopping 0 goals from that in 12 minutes of gametime. Superb investment

  3. I actually understand the Morata signing to a degree. But I can’t wrap my head around this signing. It’s like similar player but less decorated.
Btw we also have Jovic and Okafor 🤷‍♂️..unless we’re planning to ship one of them I don’t see how they’re going to distribute adequate game time between all of them.

    1. Depth, man. Fonseca likes his 9’s who have a presence in the box, can hold up play and press up high.

Jovic and Okafor can only play together. They aren’t any good as sole strikers. Rewatch the last season. It was painfully obvious.

Okafor should be given more minutes as a winger when Leao’s form doesn’t merit a start.

    2. Unfortunately I think it’s because Jovic is exiting, and I think Fullkrug is far more convincing, with his ability to smash in goals. His international record is also impressive.
