Di Marzio: Gabbia, Ballo-Toure and Nasti all attracting concrete interest – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on exits as well as signings this summer and three players are the subject of interest, according to a report.

According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Fode Ballo-Toure is a player in demand after two seasons in which he has not convinced as the deputy to Theo Hernandez. Bologna are keen on signing him, but OGC Nice from Ligue 1 have also come forward.

Centre-back Matteo Gabbia is also in demand too. In addition to Frosinone there is also the interest of Genoa who have come forward in the last few hours, leaving the Primavera graduate with a decision to make.

Meanwhile, young striker Marco Nasti – who played at Cosenza last season – is very close to joining Bari on loan for next season. The Apulian club were close to getting promotion to Serie A in 2022-23 but missed out via the play-offs.

    1. no get rid of all italians, we have way too many and milan hates them now. i mean what do you think this is…? an italian team? …

      1. Agreed, he could benefit from consistent playing time. He will get used to performing game and and out. That should help a lot

      1. 5 CBs?

Why do we need more CBs than Man City?

Gabbia should be fourth choice and we need to stop fiddling around in a position that’s sorted.

          1. Ok and with Kalulu he can play RB (or I’m sure LB) but we shouldn’t have more than max 2 players per position and ideally 3 players for every 2 positions e.g. 3 CBs and players playing across multiple positions e.g. Kalulu covering the entire back four.

This is the only way to get the squad players playing multiple games.

It’s how Juve used the likes of Cáceres, how we used Ambrosini, and even how Barca used Iniesta (who was a starter but played across the attacking midfield and attacking roles).

In this scenario Gabbia is the perfect cover as a back up to our back ups.

The idea that we need more than 2 players for each position and a squad of 30 is ridiculous and is being pushed because it allows for even more player turnover and transfers.

    2. As a youth player Gabbia would need to produce the performances of Baresi and Costacurta combined to have any chance of making our bench.

Much better to sell him for 1m and sign a replace this season for 2m and another for 5m the following season and another 10m the following season and a loan the following season and so on and so forth.

      Keep the churn.

      1. Cant sell gabbia. We are short on youth product on first team.

Need 4, as per regulation. Right now just gabbia, calabria, pobega. I think kalulu might be eligible for this next year, not sure. So right now we are short one, which means right now we are already short. Not sure about colombo status, but maldini is already out

Unless we promote someone on youth, ofc. Eletu and chakra are prime candidate. Nasti too in few years
