Di Marzio: Genoa emerge as strong contenders to sign striker from Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

One of the situations that the AC Milan management must resolve is the future of Marco Nasti, and a new club have come forward as a potential suitor as per a report.

Nasti was taken on the preseason tour of the United States given the absences in the forward department, and he announced himself by scoring the winner in the first friendly against Manchester City. However, an exit has always been talked about, with Cremonese the most heavily linked.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Genoa are looking for reinforcements for the attacking department after they sold Mateo Retegui to Atalanta. The idea of the Rossoblù is to replace a young and promising striker with another name that falls into that mould.

The first name on their list is Marco Nasti, who played last season on loan at Bari scoring seven goals in 38 games in Serie B. There is also the Andrea Pinamonti idea, but the operation would be very expensive because Sassuolo will not sell off their best players at a discount price despite relegation.

Genoa have begun their movements, also knowing that they are very likely to lose Albert Gudmundsson before the end of the transfer window, with Fiorentina among the players most concretely linked.

  1. Retain 50% of Nasti rights. If he “explodes” , we can take him back in favorable conditions. If he will not develop properly we get as maximum possible of him . I hate to give our young players to clubs like Genoa, Atalanta, Torino, Bologna, Udinese etc, for 3-5 millions and they can resale them for 20-30 millions plus or maybe more… I don’t wanna give them opportunity to make great businesses with our talents. Never ! My player, my profit !

    1. Would you mind to tell me who was the last player of Milan academy that was sold for big money? And dont mention Locatelli because we sold them in 15-20m IIRC. Our academy players are average at best
