Marco Giampaolo and the rest of his staff are expected at Milanello to clear their belongings shortly, according to a report.

We were informed yesterday by our correspondent Vito Angele that Milan had made the decision to sack Giampaolo following a difficult start to the season.

The Rossoneri lost four of their first six league games for the first time since 1938, and a narrow win against relegation-threatened Genoa was not enough to save his job.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Giampaolo and his coaching staff are due at Milanello imminently to collect their personal belongings.

However one member is set to stay: goalkeeping coach Luigi Turci will remain in Stefano Pioli’s staff due to his excellent relationship with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Di Marzio adds.

Luciano Spalletti apparently agreed a three-year deal to take over, but he was unable to resolve the issue with Inter regarding his severance pay to terminate his contract there.

As a result, another former Inter boss in Stefano Pioli is now set to join, with the coach ready to sign his contract today.
