Di Marzio provides information on three key Milan targets for the summer

By Euan Burns -

Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has provided an update to fans on three of the players that AC Milan have been heavily linked with in recent weeks.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport 24 (via Milan News), the journalist discussed Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada.

Milinkovic-Savic is a player that is out of contract in 2024 and it seems very realistic that he may be leaving the club, but it is not clear that he is being negotiated with yet.

“That the player may be leaving yes, because if he doesn’t renew he has a year left on his contract, so yes. That Milan may like him, yes, as any kind of club at international level likes him. I don’t have any evidence now of a negotiation,” Di Marzio said.

Di Marzio also explained that Milan are negotiating with both Loftus-Cheek and Kamada but everyone is aware that they need a striker first and foremost rather than multiple midfielders.

“Milan is now negotiating for Loftus-Cheek and is negotiating for Kamada, who are two midfielders. They have to get a forward and they are evaluating various profiles,” he said.

As he went on to explain, there is some juggling for Milan to do because they could still keep Brahim Diaz and then it is not clear where the new midfielders would go if more than one of them was to be signed.

“So that makes three transactions already. Then you have to understand whether or not you keep Brahim Diaz. Because if you keep Brahim Diaz and also take Kamada then where do you put Milinkovic-Savic? Either Milinkovic-Savic, Diaz or Kamada: two out of three, definitely not three out of three,” Di Marzio explained.

  1. “Either Milinkovic-Savic, Diaz or Kamada: two out of three, definitely not three out of three”

Definitely Milinkovic-Savic and Kamada, Why is that even a question?🤔

  2. Basically he doesn’t know either and made an educated guess. Milan more likely to sign someone out of the blue

  3. I won’t believe until I see videos of new players signing their contracts
Last 2 windows have opened my brain
Even if medical is done and player confirmed I will not believe until I see videos not a video
Nobody should blame me for this please I knew how we were deceived last 2 windows and at the end of the day it was only 50m that was budgeted

  4. SMS isnt even a similar player to Diaz and Kamada tho, he is literally a defensive midfielder who plays as an ACM, something Pioli loves to have and he can play in place of Krunic Tonali and Bennacer too not just instead of Diaz/Kamada/CDK.
Diaz is good but I doubt he will improve a lot more than his current season so I wouldnt mind if we keep him for around 20mil but not more.
Kamada is free and should be priority signing regardless of SMS/Diaz and striker/s we get.

  5. They have to get Ruben Loftus-cheek. Have to. Eventhough I don’t trust Milan’s management . The present owners are very stingy

        1. Have you even watched Loftus-Cheek play? Dont get me wrong im not comparing him with SMS but don´t you remember what he did to us when we played Chelsea this years CL? Honestly Loftus-Cheek is exactly what we need in midfield since SMS is out of our league atm..

  6. Real asking 30m euro for Brahim. We can buy SMS with 30-35m euro ( skip if above 35m euro ) . SMS and kamada are good signing. SMS can play as double pivot too

    1. Totally agree, I like Brahim Diaz and at times he’s excellent, but he’s inconsistent and physically gets bossed around. SMS is a must and a real statement signing. He takes us to another level. His goal return at Lazio who have largely been an average side is also excellent. He also has a relationship with Pioli which could help us…. #Piolistay 😂

I’d go for a loan with option Scamacca,he and SMS make our front 4 a real physical threat. He can rotate with Oli G.

We have no idea well how much we will have to spend, but with this seasons CL run, getting into the CL again fingers crossed, we have to be looking for two 30-35m signings. Defence is good for me, Midfield with Bennacer’a injury is a problem albeit relatively short term. If we can get the loan for Scamacca and then look at SMS and a RW..I’d still go Berardi or Zaniolo personally but there’s a conversation to be had there. Someone cited a deal with Galatasaray and Balloons-Toure for Zaniolo.

For me the main thing is to get it done early, no messing around like last summer.

  7. All this setup stories might be different from what management actually try to sign. Because they said they work off the light so there might be surprise if we JUST skip this whole event for 1 or 2 months later. And we might get the actual signing

  8. If Milan sincerely wants play at top level they need to allow Diaz to leave and go for quality, Diaz lacks of consistency is always a threat to Milan performance. SMS and Kamada should be our priority in midfield and CDL should be loaned out to mid table Serie A club!

    1. I think I’d be tempted to give CDK another season before loaning him, unless we have to utilise him in a move for Scamacca. The deal with him was late and he got no real pre season. He’s young and just moved to a new country and league. We have to remember footballers are humans not entities, he’s still just a kid really.

Agree with everything you say on Diaz, SMS and Kamada.
