Di Marzio: Inter reignite interest in Milan star as Conte wants muscle – swap was rejected

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter could go back in for AC Milan’s Franck Kessie during the summer as Antonio Conte eyes midfield reinforcements, a report claims.

Despite having been virtually an ever-present in the starting XI since his arrival from Atalanta back in 2017, Kessie continues to be linked with a possible exit in the upcoming transfer window.

A number of different Premier League teams have been linked since last summer, while La Repubblica (via MilanNews.it) recently reported that Milan are going to use the Ivorian in a bid for Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky Italia, Kessie was a target for Inter during the January window but now the Nerazzurri could revisit the idea of signing him as Conte wants more muscle in his midfield.

It is difficult to imagine Milan selling to a rival, the report adds, but it remains to be understood if the deal could be unlocked via a certain such as an exchange deal, with the Rossoneri having rejected a swap involving Gagliardini in the winter.
