Jovan Kirovski could soon be promoted to the first team amid the management chaos, having worked as the sporting director of Milan Futuro up until now.
During the late spring of 2024, Zlatan Ibrahimovic convinced Milan to bring in his friend from his time at LA Galaxy, namely Kirovski. He had been working as the technical director of the American club up until then, and was brought in to become the sporting director of the Futuro side.

The results have been mixed since, with the Futuro side first suffering relegation to Serie D and then failing to get promoted this past season. On top of that, some key youngsters have left the club (such as Mattia Liberali), and there could be more to come.
Nevertheless, Ibrahimovic still feels that Kirosvki has a lot to give to this club. While he’s not qualififed to act as a sporting director at a first-team level yet, he enrolled in a course last year and has also brushed up his Italian, now doing interviews in the language.
Gaining momentum
During his show on Sky Italia last night, Gianluca Di Marzio shared some updates on the whole situation, confirming that the internal solution is gaining momentum. Kirovski would be supported by another figure, but it could be a temporary fix to a big problem.
“The internal solution is moving forward, i.e. the solution advocated by Ibra. The man who is maintaining a sort of continuity these days is Jovan Kirovski, who has been the Futuro’s sporting director in recent seasons and who could take on a different role in the first team.
“He would be supported by other figures: one internal and one external, with a license. Perhaps an Italian who has worked abroad. We have mentioned a name today, which is Domenico Teti: we understand that he has been contacted.
“Evidently, they are trying to build a different structure but one that could include Kirovski who, I repeat, is the man advocated and brought in by Ibra. This would strengthen Ibra’s role and presence in Milan’s decision-making process in the future,” he stated.
For me, the biggest issue wasn’t who had power at Milan.
It was that too many people seemed to be fighting over it. The recent shake-up looks like Cardinale finally choosing a clear hierarchy instead of internal battles.
Communication could be better, but if Amorim gets time to build like he did at Sporting and the club adds the right players, Milan can become both competitive and financially sustainable again
It very well a case of ‘too many cooks soul the broth’, I am still not fully convinced on Ibrahimovic, but if I lean towards him it is because he has a vested interest in AC Milan, and that stems from his financial involvement, if he did not think it was going to be successful he would NOT invest his money and this is key but many askew this notion stating that he is just trying to have more power and keep costs low, but that is illogical because Ibrahimovic only wins if Milan on both a tangible level and his ego level
There wasn’t an issue with the structure until Cardinale fired everyone. Furlani ran things well. Tare as a SD and Allegri as coach were solid choices. Furlani prevented Ibrahimovic’s interference. A section of the fanbase are imbeciles, they hounded Furlani out and now look at what’s happened. I have little faith things will work out while Ibrahimovic has Cardinale’s ear. This time next season, I expect Ibrahimovic will be fired and we’ll start all over again.
But Furlani was only a pen pusher. He didn’t ran anything. Everything was Tare and Moncada’s fault.
So how come he was running things well ?
And also how well was his “running” ? Last season or the one before, we didn’t have a clue about what was going on. We got gazzilions of articles of this or that player or coach being this or that person’s target ? The club was 8th and is now 5th. So how can you say there were no issues with the structure ?
Er, remember Pioli’s last season?
He actually got Milan into SECOND PLACE, and Champions League!
And yet, somehow, that was not good enough for Ibrahimovich who pushed Pioli out, and then hired two Portuguese coaches in a row who sank Milan into EIGHTH PLACE, out of Europe entirely.
OK, so Allegri was not Ibra’s choice or his fault, but Allegri still did better than Ibra’s choices.
Ibra also sank the Milan Futuro Project by rejecting Abate, putting his suckup favorite Bonera in charge instead.
His very track record should make you fear anything he decides to do.

So Ibra’s personal assistant and lapdog Kirovski will eagerly step into this vacuum and AC Milan will go the way of its Futuro Project after Ibra stuck his thumbs into it.
I fully expect Ibra will next bring his son Max back to Milan from Ajax and get him a spot on the roster of the senior team

OK, let me spell it out for you – they need to hire somebody with a license who is willing to just roll over, collect a nice paycheck without having to do any work, and let Kirovski be the one in charge.
Kirovski, in turn, will be just a conduit, constantly on the phone to Ibra asking him what he wants to do.
That’s where things are headed.
And, I predict Amorim will be out by the winter break.
