Di Marzio: Milan and Juventus set to miss out as Inter close in on €30m deal for Italy starlet

By Oliver Fisher -

Inter are closing in on the signing of Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali in a €30million deal, according to the latest reports.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for Tonali as they look for a long-term partner for Ismael Bennacer in the engine room of the midfield.

Numerous sources have claimed Milan’s interest in Tonali is genuine, with the Diavolo hoping to play on the fact he is a boyhood fan of the club and would instantly be a protagonist of a new youth-led Milan side.

As our mercato expert Vito Angele revealed to us last month that Tonali has in fact reached an agreement with Inter regarding a summer move, and now a further blow has arrived.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio (via Football Italia) claims that a deal is ‘close to completion’ between Inter and Brescia, as the player has made his preference clear regarding a move to the Nerazzurri.

Despite growing up as a Milan fan, the 20-year-old appears to have been persuaded by Antonio Conte and the idea of forming a midfield core with compatriots Stefano Sensi and Nicolò Barella.

Meanwhile, our correspondent Vito Angele has answered a number of questions from fans regarding the future of Milan and the upcoming mercato.
