AC Milan believe that they have signed one of the best talents in European football in winger Rafael Leao, according to one journalist.
The Portuguese starlet arrived from Lille in summer 2019 and had an inconsistent season last season, showing glimpses of what he can do without ever hitting stride.
In 2020-21 though it has been a different story, as he has amassed three goals and three assists in eight games across Serie A and the Europa League.
There is still some debate as to what his best position is, as the forward has had a taste of being both striker and left winger already during his time with the Rossoneri, but there seems to be no question that he has serious talent that is waiting to be unlocked and nurtured
Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to Sky Italia on Monday night about Leao’s situation at Milan, and confirmed that the club have huge faith in him to repay the investment they made.
“Milan are convinced they have made a great coup with Leao,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).
“Rafael is considered among the most important talents in European football, Milan believe they have taken on a great talent. Ibra was also taken to raise the youngest players… Ibra, Rebic, Leao, Diaz. Now Pioli also has a choice in front of him.”
