Gianluca Di Marzio has no reason to suspect that AC Milan are actively trying to offload Rafael Leao ahead of next season.
There were a lot of headlines surrounding Leao going into the game against Napoli, mostly regarding whether he would recover in time to start at the Maradona, a stadium where he has showcased all of his talent before in the biggest games.

‘Never even considered’
After the game – which ended 1-0 to Napoli with the Portuguese coming off the bench – Gianluca Di Marzio spoke directly from Madrid to discuss the future of the forward, amid rumours he could depart before 2026-27.
“Milan’s approach is to focus on him. Milan has shown that no player is unsellable, but no significant offers have arrived that would shake Milan. So the club has never even considered whether to put him on the market or not,” he said (via MilanNews).
Even in the past week there has been talk from sources like La Gazzetta dello Sport about Leao being available for the right price, which they believe to be around €80m.
Igli Tare was even asked about the speculation before the Napoli game, responding: “As far as I know, he has a contract for another two years. He’s a very important player for Milan.”

This almost sounds like “Milan’s management will revolve around Furlani who will be promoted”, I believe it was once again Di Marzio who delivered the news last May when some fans expected him to be fired. With all due respect to Leao, right now he is more of a threat to us than the opponent. I’m trying to find positives, maybe Allegri made him a slightly better team player and Theo’s absence helped him grow a little bit even outside the field, but then there was the Lazio debacle… The injury is slowing him down tremendously. We should build around Pulisic, Mike, Rabiot, Pavlovic and Barte (hopefully, he will stop making the same mistake at some point this season and onward).

Milan will build around Leao because no other big club will ever want this lazy limited mediocre mentality player. Maybe an arab club but in this context of Middle East I doubt something like this will happen.

If they can find an offer of 80 million, Leao will be gone. If not, they’ll keep him probably until he goes to the Saudi league. I could see Arsenal going in for him but Chelsea are banned from transfers and I don’t think he’d go to Man United. Bayern could afford him but I think Kompany wouldn’t want the attitude and habits of Leao. Arsenal or Liverpool, maaayyybbeee Atleti. Idk, finding a team for him is difficult. But if ANY team offers 80 mil, I think Milan pull the trigger. Keep Nkunku, sell Fullkrug, switch to a 433 and get a proper striker with Gimenez as back up. They payed for Gimenez too but with champions league, we’ll need two strong strikers so hopefully Gimenez can be that 2nd guy. Although they could sell Nkunku too then you can use that money plus Leao’s and easily get a starter and back up winger for that side or move Pulisic over there and replace the right side and keep Salad as a back up winger. SO many options if you sell Leao. Keeping Leao though, you have almost an unsolvable puzzle. They can’t switch to a 433 if Leao stays b/c he won’t play defense in that winger role and he can’t play as a striker soooo…idk he has to go. ESPECIALLY with this injury, it’s the type of injury that changed Kaka forever, and he had way ore quality than Leao so it’s a quick drop off for him.
