Di Marzio: “Milan are getting closer and closer to De Ketelaere”

By Euan Burns -

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has said that AC Milan are getting ‘closer and closer’ to confirming the signing of Charles De Ketelaere.

Speaking whilst on the Calciomercato L’Originale show on Sky Sport (via Milan News), the journalist explained that the Rossoneri chase for the Belgian youngster is progressing and they are heading in the right direction.

It is known that Milan made their first bid last week but it was far below the fee that Club Brugge want for De Ketelaere.

“Milan are getting closer and closer to De Ketelaere. Milan have made a further relaunch, there is still no final agreement with Brugge but they are working to reach it so that De Ketelaere can be one of Milan’s big signings,” Di Marzio said.

That previous offer was €20 million with some bonuses but clearly the new offer sent by Milan is much closer to the €30-35 million that the Belgian champions are asking for.

“The offer from what we understand is €28m +3m in bonuses. Confidence is growing to reach a definitive closure with Brugge,” he said.

There has been serious interest in the attacking midfielder from Premier League sides such as Leeds United and Southampton.

Thankfully for Milan, the player only seems to have eyes for the Rossoneri at the moment and is waiting for a deal to be agreed.

  1. He won’t join while Milan offers 10M less than Leeds. Same talk was about Botman, where did he end up? He was “one step away” from Milan and whatnot.
