Di Marzio: Milan director met Bournemouth defender recently to discuss move

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to sign a centre-back in January due to a couple of injuries and Lloyd Kelly appears to be their primary target. According to a report, the Rossoneri director Geoffrey Moncada has already met the player.

Moncada, who was promoted to technical director this summer, has been following Kelly for quite some time. The Bournemouth defender’s contract will expire at the end of the season and he was initially not meant to be a January option.

However, due to Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino’s injuries, Milan have been forced to act. Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by Francesco Nasato, Gianluca Di Marzio shared an update on the Rossoneri’s interest in Kelly.

“From what I know, Moncada spoke to and met Kelly at the end of the match last week. Maybe Bournemouth will let him go with some compensation as early as January,” he stated.

It remains to be seen what will happen in January. Speaking to Sky last night, Moncada himself revealed that a lot can change between now and then. We can slo be quite sure that Kelly isn’t the only name on the wish list.
