In addition to the January window, AC Milan are also monitoring players for the summer. One of these is the centre-back Saba Goglichidze, who has impressed with Empoli and could find himself making the big move, a report claims.
Born in 2004, Goglichidze joined Empoli one year ago from the Georgian club Torpedo Kutaisi. He made his debut at the start of this season and has since made 16 appearances, all from start, impressing several Serie A clubs.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, as cited by Il Garante, Milan have set their sights on the 20-year-old and should soon initiate a pursuit. Whether it will take place this month or in the summer, however, remains to be seen as the Rossoneri have a lot on their plate.
As the journalist continues, it’s possible that Milan could reach an agreement with Empoli this month and leave him at the club on loan until the summer. This would likely bring down the price tag a little as well, given how important Goglichidze is for the Tuscan side this season.
When Milan faced Empoli earlier in the season, a game they won by three goals to nil, we picked out Goglichidze in our key battles articles. In short, his potential is clear to everyone.
There are still better players who have contracts that are about to expire in June this year, such as Jonathan Tah, Boscagli and Gasiorowski at Valencia. But the management is still choosing unknown players, rather than looking for players who already have experience and quality.
Well Tah would probably come at a high sign-on fee + high salary as there will be many clubs interested. No idea about Boscagli but Valencia has an option to renew Gasiorowski with a 2 year according to Transfermarkt.
Adding Goglichidze would probably leave him lowest in the pecking order in the first team so not a player that expects to play every match either.
Hope after he retires, he won’t become a corrupt politician like Kaladze…
Right, because Silvio was a model politician?
