Di Marzio: Milan eye Chelsea man as Ibrahimovic alternative; talks with agent begin

By Isak Möller -

As revealed by Gianluca Di Marzio this evening, live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t the only name for Milan’s attack. The Rossoneri have also identified Inter target Olivier Giroud as a possible solution.

Milan have scored just 11 goals in the first 12 games of the season, sitting in 14th place in the standings. Therefore, as the January window is just around the corner, the Rossoneri directors are working to identify possible targets on the market.

According to Di Marzio, the first choice remains Ibrahimovic, and there seems to be a willingness from both parties to close the deal. However, even though the Rossoneri are willing to offer an 18-month contract, they still need to agree on the salary.

As a backup plan, Milan have made contacts with Giroud’s agent, per the journalist. This shows that Ibrahimovic’s arrival is far from certain, yet it’s a signal that the San Siro side are looking for an experienced striker.
