Di Marzio: Milan join Arsenal and Newcastle in race for Real Valladolid full-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have a strong interest in signing full-back Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid in the summer window, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

There are some doubts about the right-back role heading into next season for Milan given that Alessandro Florenzi is struggling to stay fit for a long run of games, while Pierre Kalulu has been used more as a centre-back leaving just captain Davide Calabria.

According to what Di Marzio has reported on Sky (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri are very interested in Fresneda who is currently impressing with Real Valladolid.

In the past Juventus were interested in him, while Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Newcastle are also keen and tried for him in January. The Rossoneri are following him carefully and Milan are currently the most interested team in Italy, as per the journalist.

The Spaniard has so far made 18 LaLiga and two Copa del Rey appearances this season.

  1. Good player with potential but Right back is currently not our priorities. Calabria still there, Florenzi too, and Kalulu.

Think we need to buy young quality ST and depend on where Brahim Diaz will play next season (if he still with us or not, and if he will completely convert to RW), we still need one CAM/RW. And one young Italian deputy for LB. That’s three.

Arguably we will need another winger if Rebic go, and maybe another midfield as Vrancx, Adli, and Pobega can’t give quality backup for Krunic, Tonali and Bennacer.
