Di Marzio: Milan not interested in loaning Kalulu to Juventus – the details

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have no interest in loaning Pierre Kalulu to Juventus this summer as he is not on the market, but the Bianconeri could make an offer for a permanent deal.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri would only be willing to listen to a permanent offer for the Frenchman as as far as they are concerned, he is not for sale.

Reports emerged earlier on Monday claiming that Juventus have submitted a loan offer for Kalulu that would see the Bianconeri pay €3m and then have the option to pay another €14m to make the deal permanent next summer.

They also claimed that Kalulu had given his green light to the proposal, but Di Marzio claims that there is interest from the Frenchman, rather than a green light.

Juventus are seeking a new defender because they failed in their pursuit of Jean-Clair Todibo who has chosen to move to West Ham United.

Di Marzio claims that Juventus’ loan offer would actually be €3.5m rather than €3m, with the permanent purchasing being €14m and another €3m in bonuses. Milan would also be due 10% of any future resale that Juventus make on the player.

It remains to be seen what Milan’s response to the official bid will be.

  1. This is the reality of serie a now.
Player would choose a move to west ham rather than Juve.
Wonder when will serie a back to their glory days.

      1. True, but i strongly believe it’s because fofana wants to play in the ucl, which west ham and MU can’t provide.
Iirc so far there’s no mention about ucl teams interested in fofana.

  2. Don’t think he wants to go there. Juve have struggled pretty badly preseason, so I see why they’re panicking a bit. But not our problem. We aren’t a charity and anything less than 30 million would be us being a charity.

Keep Kalulu and let him stay. Maybe he can recover his form.

    1. No chance 30m€ for Kalulu, after this seasson it is really max 20-22… he play few matches in the end of seasson and it was not good…Same in US tour, he was on the bench every match…
This seasson I don’t think he will has a space for playing , really in CB there are 4 players and RB 2 players.. And now it is Hard to say if he can make comeback to the “Good old Kalulu” from 2 years ago…
If he stay, it is okey but also if he goes for around 20/22m€ , it also good

        1. Yea you are right, but 20m€ + 10% from next sell is okey .. Now there is no time and space for giving him chance with question… “will he be good again?”
          Same like with Tammy Abraham

  3. Juve doesn’t have players for 4231. That’s the cruel reality. Only proper winger they have is Chiesa and they wanna sell him. Only proper back they have is cambiaso. Danilo used 2 be one but he old, not someone you wanna build around. Then ofc they got no AM and maybe one DM.

Motta gonna have a hard season

    1. Yep, transitioning from a 3 back no winger system to a 4 back system with wingers is tough, same as the other way around. That was one of the reasons we didn’t go for, and shouldn’t have gone for, a coach that plays 3-5-2 like Conte. Napoli is having similar issues with personnel changes. Good for us. Two teams that are less likely to compete for the scudetto, but bad for Serie A, as competition in the league and being able to go deep in Europe are important for the league. We’ll see if they can stabilize and play well in the first couple of months.

  4. I usually don’t judge by preseason, but if that’s any indication of what’s to come for them, Motta may be canned before the summer

    1. So far fans who wanted motta have been very quiet lol.
I know it’s just friendly matches but nothing wrong with winning them to build confidence.
But hey i would be more than happy to see juve crash and burn with whoever coach they picked.

      1. I know, but we have seen it before. A team struggling pre-season then doing much better in the season itself. Still, it doesn’t look good for them. I don’t know if it’s really Motta’s fault… Juve seems to be signing players for positions they don’t need.

        1. Yeah i remember when milan trashed munchen during the chinese owner era, and fans thought milan were back in business.
You’re right, seems like juve signed motta without providing him the players needed for his system.
I hope it won’t be the case with fonseca, so far he got his royal (if that even is true that fonseca requested for royal)

      2. Is it Motta or is it the turnover in the squad necessary to convert from a 3-5-2 system to a 4-2-3-1 system? This is why I didn’t want Conte or any other 3-5-2 coach to replace Pioli, and it’s precisely why management didn’t seriously consider one either. The impact is huge. If Juventus does start off slowly they would be very shortsighted to fire Motta. It will be a transitional year for them.

        1. More to juve side.
But both sides should have known what to expect isn’t it.
I also opposed the idea of conte.
I didn’t care when people say he brought winning mentality whatsoever.
You can’t just built a base for 5 years only to destroy it and build a new ones for a new coach.

    1. 💯💯💯💯

ZERO LOANS w Options. Straight cash (20M or more) plus resale % (as there is a chance Motta can turn him into another Calafiori story)

  5. No reason to help gobba di merda in any sense. But if we can skin them for 20 million Euro or more, while making a capital gain, then why not.

  6. Some reports suggest negotiations are still on, Rube are holding out for a loan with option, Milan want loan with obligation. A deal could be struck on basis of loan with option which becomes obligatory under certain conditions.

So that’s the real price of Emerson. Cráp.

  7. There’s a pretty obvious opportunity here that Milan seems to be missing.

Thiago Motta has already told Weston McKennie that he needs to find a new home, and has no place in Juventus’ future. Given how poor Juventus have been, recently, and the fact that McKennie tied with Paolo Dybala and Rafa Leao for the Serie A assist lead, last season, that’s amazing to me, but it’s also an opportunity for Milan (and several EPL teams that are looking at him, West Ham first and foremost).

We can probably get McKennie for €10M or less, and while he has recently been more of a “box-to-box” midfielder, his roots are as a DM, and he has played as a DM for the USMNT several dozen times, first when he started with the team and then again when Tyler Adams suffered multiple injuries over the past two years.

His base inclination is defense, he’s excellent with his head, and he is extremely creative. Here’s some perspective regarding creativity. Last season, Reijnders had three assists and Musah, Adli and Bennacer had two each. McKennie had nine, the same number as all four of our best midfielders, combined!

There’s also the tie-in that he is familiar with Musah and Pulisic, but that’s just gravy.

    Just a thought.
