Although just three days have passed of the January transfer window, there have been plenty of rumours regarding Milan’s potential signings. Two, in particular, have been linked with the club.
These are Mohamed Simakan (Strasbourg) and Kouadio Kone (Toulouse), one centre-back and one midfielder. The Rossoneri have followed the duo for a long time and it seemed they would be able to secure both of them.
However, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanEye), Milan gave up on Kone after offering €5m plus €1m in bonuses. A German club (Borrusia M’Gladbach), as our Pietro Balzano Prota revealed had entered the race, swooped in a secured the deal.
The youngster waited for Milan, but it came to nothing. As for Simakan, the Rossoneri are still optimistic that they are in pole position and could still reduce the gap on the trabsfer fee with Strasbourg.
However, a deal is not done yet as some have suggested. Di Marzio added that the budget for the midfield is just €5m.
