Joshua Zirkzee is AC Milan’s number one target this window, and whilst a deal seems close, they are keeping their options open. Today, a report has stated they will travel to Germany to scout a talent playing in this summer’s European Championship.
Milan need a striker in this window, and they have their preference, but whilst his signature is not on the dotted line of a Rossoneri contract, other alternatives will be evaluated, and that is very much the case with the Diavolo’s current plans.
As Gianluca Di Marzio reports, Milan are travelling to Dortmund for Italy’s game against Albania, and the plan is to scout Armando Broja. The Albanian striker has been linked with the club heavily in the past, and it seems this summer will be the latest rendition of the interest.
Most recently, the Rossoneri made a late attempt in the January mercato to take the striker on loan, but nothing came to fruition at least to move to Italy. Instead, the 22-year-old moved to Fulham, where he assisted once in eight games.
Of course, there could be other objectives during their time in Germany, such as scouting their favoured target, and maybe there could be additional focuses during the game between the Azzurri and Albania.
Injury prone Broja is a Zirkzee alternative 😂 with 11 goals in the last 3 seasons. He scored 2 or 3 last season.

If there’s still any interest in Broja he is more as deputy striker, alternative to Jovic.
His goal scoring record last 2 years is abysmal but that’s down to injury he had. But he is still 22 so if we can get him for cheap (10-15m), there’s still talent in the boy and a gamble I can back. But that mean we still need the main striker signing, like Zirkzee, Dovbyk, Gimenez, or the like.
I still believe this management is not that stupid. They want profit, true, but that’s what every club wanted – and many can’t even dream about it.
if he is a deputy striker, why not just keep Jovic then ?
That’s why I use “If” mate. “If” there is any interest from Milan, it would be as alternative. Jovic is getting the numbers last season but often looked lost when starting the game, maybe that’s why management is trying to consider alternative. But it’s also possible that the interest is just media speculation.
But it looks like the management finally reached conclusion to renew Jovic contract (according to reliable sources). Whether that’s because the alternative is too costly (Chelsea likely wanted 20m minimum for him, Omorodion cost >35m), etc or the interest is just media speculation from the beginning, we’ll never know.
Ca we just forget about all these unsure players and give Okafor the chance to prove him self. He scored 6 goals last season despite the little playing time he got.

We should be scouting Ramos from Portugal, Dovbyk from Ukraine. Left field is Ivan Toney, Vlahovic and Lukaku. Vlahovic would be great but wont happen. Ramos is the best alternative. Ramos-Leao-Pulisic trident would be brilliant.
Reality is Milan can get Victor Roque on loan with option to buy next summer. He is just 19 and has a lot of room for growth. Ramos, Dovbyk , Lukaku and Toney are second tier strikers. Vlahovic is just a fantasy.

Last time Joshua Zirkzee scored through the air was Jan 26th 2020 with Bayern’s second team. Please go watch Dovbyk highlights from last season and tell me you prefer Zirkzee for our 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1. My mind got changed completely. If we’re looking for a target striker, Zirkzee is not the player.
