Di Marzio: Milan’s probable XI to face Frosinone – squad down to the bare bones

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli seems to have settled on the side that he will field tomorrow night against Frosinone as he battles yet another selection crisis.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s Frosinone arrive at San Siro, who are around the middle of the table and are very far from the relegation zone, which means that they will take on Milan in what is a bit of a free hit for them.

The list of players unavailable at Milan is very long: Sportiello, Kalulu, Kjaer, Thiaw, Pellegrino, Caldara, Leao, Okafor. The last in chronological order was Thiaw, who came off due to a muscle injury in the Champions League. Furthermore, Giroud is still suspended.

The positive news for Pioli concerns the return of midfielder Ismael Bennacer to the squad for the first time this season after a long injury and surgery, which was over 200 days ago.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Pioli should choose the teenage centre-back Jan-Carlo Simic to join Fikayo Tomori in the heart of the defence. Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez will keep their spot as the full-backs.

In midfield, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rade Krunic and Yunus Musah have the advantage while in attack the choices are limited due to injuries and suspensions. Samuel Chukwueze, Luka Jovic and Christian Pulisic are candidates.

Probable Milan (4-3-3) : Maignan; Calabria, Simic, Tomori, Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Musah; Chukwueze, Jovic, Pulisic.
