Di Marzio: Nianzou, Buongiorno, Brassier – the latest on Milan’s centre-back pursuit

A new name has emerged in AC Milan’s pursuit of another central defender and it is Sevilla’s Tanguy Nianzou, according to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio.

Milan secured the return of Matteo Gabbia from his loan spell at Villarreal but they are still looking for another centre-back given that Malick Thiaw, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori will be out for some time with quite serious muscle injuries.

According to the latest from Di Marzio, several names are being evaluated and one of them is Lilian Brassier of Brest, a player that Geoffrey Moncada recently confirmed is someone he has been following for years.

In addition to Brassier, the Rossoneri are also looking at Tanguy-Austin Nianzou Kouassi – better known as Tanguy Nianzou – who is currently playing at Sevilla but has not had much playing time this season.

Raised in the PSG youth system, Kouassi moved to Bayern Munich in 2020 and then Sevilla in 2022. The France U21 international – who is still only 21 years of age – has played just three times in LaLiga for a team that sit 16th.

Di Marzio adds that Alessandro Buongiorno is the management’s favourite and Torino would like Lorenzo Colombo as a counterpart but the operation is not simple, especially because it would take €20-22m plus the striker to find an agreement.
