Di Marzio: Pioli’s Al Ittihad move on ‘standby’ after Milan departure

Following his departure from AC Milan, Stefano Pioli is set to move to Al Ittihad, but a report from this morning has suggested that the Italian’s move is on ‘standby’ with the Rossoneri watching on with hope.

The end of the Pioli era will live long in the memories of Milan fans. There was a constant back and forth about his position, and for the majority of the season, he was insecure in his position as manager but seemed to always have some stability.

It is a situation that still is baffling in some respects, but now the future is here, and there is no point reflecting on the past when the future is nearing.

However, this sentiment is shared by Pioli, and he has been searching for a new job for a couple of months now, partaking in interviews and speaking to other clubs, it seems he has found a new club, but the final steps must be taken.

In recent days, it has seemed a move to Saudi Arabia was nearing completion, but as Gianluca Di Marzio (via Milan News) reports, this is not the case at the moment. Instead, there have been no signatures or steps forward in the negotiations, and now the move is ‘on standby’.

With the Rossoneri able to benefit from a move, they will keep an eye on the situation, with the rewards there for themselves, but it is a case of when, not if, for Pioli’s next club.
