Di Marzio predicts market derby for Brescia star as Maldini makes him a priority

With just two games left of the season, AC Milan have begun probing the market for potential targets ahead of the transfer window in September. As Ralf Rangnick isn’t coming, their wish list has changed quite a bit.

That being said, there are still a few players that left that both Maldini-Massara and Rangnick want to sign. One of them is Sandro Tonali, who has been linked with a move to Inter, Juventus and Milan after two fantastic seasons with Brescia.

This was confirmed by Gianluca Di Marzio, who spoke about the midfielder’s situation on Sky Italia last night, as cited by MilanNews.it. A market derby is on the horizon, as both Milan clubs are seemingly keen on landing Tonali’s services.

“The player has already said yes to Inter in late April, then Inter never closed with Brescia. They are in talks with Cellino, who is a tough nut. Milan have joined, who both with Maldini-Massara and Rangnick had put Tonali at the top of the list.

“They asked for information from the player’s agent, Beppe Bozzo, as well as Brescia. Now, whoever finds an agreement with Cellino first will close a deal. It’s a nice market duel,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if the Rossoneri will make a move for the youngster, especially since Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie have played extremely well in the midfield tandem. That being said, it would be a very good signing indeed.
