Ralf Rangnick appears to be the primary option for AC Milan, but it seems that everyone at RedBird is not in agreement about his appointment.
It is no secret that Rangnick has been the leading candidate to take over the reins on the Milan project. He wants to install a club-wide reset and have full control over it, which is what the Rossoneri probably need.

However, not everyone is in agreement about this idea. In fact, there has been plenty of backlash from outside the club on the appointment.
Ibrahimovic still against Rangnick
The sole source, seemingly, of the discontent has been Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is a RedBird employee and advisor to Gerry Cardinale. However, despite the owner’s beliefs, he is against the appointment. Though it may not matter too much.
Speaking yesterday, Gianluca Di Marzio provided an update on the situation, via MilanNews.
“The question now is whether Rangnick arrives or not, not whether Glasner arrives or not. Rangnick has asked for a very broad autonomy, which currently probably clashes with Ibra’s desire to be more involved in the club’s decisions.”
Remove Ibra and Kirovski. Let them go to LA Galaxy and stay there. Bring in Rangnick and let him start the project for a few years.

If Ibra cared so much about Milan he would quit all his stupid side hustles that are mostly about his Zlatan persona and concentrate on the club.

Ballon d’Or – come on, in the era of Ronaldo and Messi (half of their wins not deserved at all). The trophy which is given to either 1 of them, or in the worst case scenario to someone who won both the CL and the EURO/World cup in the same year.
Is that your criteria for a good player? Because if so, I have to inform you with great regret, you will hardly build a team of 11 for your dream team.

Hehehe. The best thing that can happen to this club is for Ibra to step aside. He will always be a hindrance. And that’s the only reason I support Ragnick conditional deal. Better to have a professional that knows what he’s doing than an amateur doing trial and error with this club.
Please Cardinale, find something else for Zlatan to do (Ambassador or whatever), anywhere away from the Milan team.
If he cares about Milan he wouldn’t agree to be a pundit for the World Cup and basically missing a whole month work at Milan that needs recruits.
Or buying a English football club to make a Netflix documentary like Ryan Reynolds Wrexham.

Cardinale if he made up his mind he would fire Ibra right away and sign Rangnick and Glasner.

He doesn’t care about Milan, he only cares about himself.
So all reports from this summer suggest that his power in the club is in the form of an actual investor in Redbird, who is also an adviser to the CEO of Redbird.
If that is true, he is not an executive that you can simply fire and he never held executive power (at least on paper as there should be division between executives and owners). Even if he no longer provides his ‘expertise’, you cannot fire someone from his ownership. Cardinale is stuck with him, as much as we are stuck with Cardinale.
In regards to EA it’s pretty simple – Milan signed contract with the PES, how can EA promote anything with our jersey..
Overall, though, the more hate he receives is probably the better. Either he disappears even more than this year and we find a new scapegoat or he becomes a monster in his relatively new capacity of whatever role he has.
I don’t think I can stand being in the company of personas like him, but the winner mentality these people have is way underestimated in life… no education or prior experience can beat that mentality in the long run.

Ibra wants his people and agency to have a say, the man is in a conflict of interest.
I am fine with Rangnick having an autonomous foothole. The Redbull organizations are streamlined and highly functional. The more concise and effective approach that permits quicker, informed decision making is the best way to go.
Wasn’t that obvious from the first ever mention of Rangnick around here? Zlatan only wants ACZlatan with his incompetent buddies filling every managerial position. It’s not “rage bait”, it’s pretty much common sense. Season 2024/2025 wasn’t that different, when you think abou it. We didn’t hire a sporting director, because Zlatan wanted to handle the business himself. The only one who had any sort of comparable influence back then was Furlani, but Fonseca and the January chaotic market are famously Zlatan’s making. He is cancer.
Also to the guy hailing his football accomplishments – what season/year exactly was Zlatan close to the Ballon d’Or even if we hypothetically imagine a world without Messi and Ronaldo?
I agree with most of you. Zlatan has a huge ego and is a very bad manager. He cares of his money and given the fact that he has invested in Carnevale, it is very difficult to get rid of him.
