Di Marzio reveals the latest on Milan’s pursuit of Bakayoko, Pellegri and a playmaker

AC Milan will start their season on Monday, taking on Sampdoria away from home, but there is still some work to do on the mercato. In the final days of the market, three (maybe more) new signings could arrive.

The Rossoneri have done very well on the market thus far, securing Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Alessandro Florenzi, Fode Ballo-Toure, Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and Oliver Giroud. And there could be more still.

Speaking live on Sky Italia this evening, as cited by MilanNews, mercato expert Gianluca Di Marzio was asked about Milan’s next moves. He revealed that two players are just one step away, while work is underway on other fronts.

On Pellegri: “The last ok from Monaco is missing, but the two clubs have already reached an agreement since last night. The French club, therefore, only has to endorse the loan of €1m and the option at €6m, which becomes an obligation for a not very high number of appearances. There is also €1m in bonuses for qualifying for the Champions League and a percentage on a future resale.”

On the midfield: “For Bakayoko, they are closing on a loan with an option to buy. For Adli, on the other hand, they are continuing to negotiate with Bordeaux.”

On the attacking midfielder: “Milan have already done a lot, but if they can manage to find the attacking name, whether playmaker or winger, under the right conditions, the club will be ready.”

It remains to be seen how many signings will have arrived at the club by the end of the market, but no one can fault Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s efforts. On a small budget, they have impressed.
