Di Marzio: Ronaldo offered to Milan amid Chelsea’s concrete interest in Leao

Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a new club before the closure of the transfer window and he has been offered to AC Milan. It stems from Chelsea and their concrete interest in Rafael Leao, a report claims.

Leao was named the best player in Serie A last season and he was indeed a key figure for Milan in their Scudetto success. Inevitably, he has attracted the interest of a few big clubs, including Todd Boehly’s Chelsea.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, as cited by FraNasato, Jorge Mendes is working hard to find a new club for Ronaldo. The latter was even offered to Milan in an attempt to unlock Leao’s move to Chelsea, but the Rossoneri made their stance very clear.

They want to renew Leao’s contract and the Portuguese winger will not move this summer. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have always referred to the €150m release clause and not even the Ronaldo solution has changed their minds.

It remains to be seen if Milan will be able to reach an agreement with Mendes for the contract renewal, which has turned out to be tougher than expected.
