It seems that, despite the dreams, AC Milan will not attempt to sign Phil Foden this summer due to the financial implications of a deal.
Signing Foden was going to be a dream signing if it were going to happen. However, that dream was always unlikely. Indeed, everyone was aware of the situation. A boyhood Manchester City fan entering the final year of his deal, but with the quality to have that deal extended whenever the Citizens wanted it to be.

Signings like that do not happen often and it was very much something to get your hopes up for, rather than seriously believe that it may happen. So, here we are.
Foden move unlikely
Late last night, on Calciomercato – L’Originale (as MilanNews relays), Gianluca Di Marzio discussed the situation and whether a move was likely to occur this summer.
“Foden’s name has been circulating these days: we’ve done our due diligence, but the salary and wage parameters are outside of Milan’s budget and those made available by Cardinale.”
It is worth noting that Milan’s budget is believed to be around the €250 million mark, including sales. So, spending upwards of €60 million on another player would leave the bank pretty empty…
