Di Marzio: Torino reignite Singo-Messias deal with Milan as interest remains

By Euan Burns -

Torino are still trying to secure a deal with AC Milan that would see Junior Messias and Wilfried Singo swap clubs, a report claims.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Granata are still very keen on adding Messias to their squad but there is some distance between the two clubs on the deal.

The plan is that Singo would join Milan to bring more depth in the wide areas, whilst Torino get Messias to bolster the quality of their squad.

Milan no longer require Messias now that Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic has arrived, but there is a desire for more defensive depth. Singo would be another choice for Milan at right back.

Messias is one of many Milan players that are destined to leave this summer as eight new players have arrived and the squad is now bloated. As many as seven or eight players could be sold or loaned.

  1. As much as I hope this could materialise, Fab already said Singo is going to be swapped with Atalanta’s Soppy, and he is proved to be a very, very reliable source.

    1. but they just opened talks why atalanta would want to swap soppy he was good enough to stay at atalanta meanwhile torino wants messias while milan could use singo now that calabria got injured and florenzi gonna be likely so milan i think would want now to close it but idk im hoping that milan get him

      1. The problem is Pioli doesn’t want Singo. Plus in the RB position we’ve got Calabria, Florenzi, perhaps Kalulu, Jimenez and even Saelemakers can be brought back as a RB. So while none of them is world class, it’s not the most urgent position right now. Better sell them Messias without any swap.

  2. I’d rather have an asset in Singo who once taught how to defend could become a force to go along with his offensive capabilities – than a player like Messias who is out of the project and at 32 has little if not anything to offer. Worse case is Pioli cannot work his magic and teach Singo how to defend or play in a back 4 (highly unlikely) and his contract runs down after the season. Best case is we teach Singo how to defend (like we did with Theo) and he becomes a beast and we have two athletic strong fast LB and RB’s that will cause havoc on both sides of the pitch AND at 24 years of age still has huge resale value. It’s a no brainer IMO. If we get Singo we can leave Kalulu as the third choice CB
