Di Marzio: Young Milan forward closing in on loan move to newly-promoted Lecce

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan striker Lorenzo Colombo looks set to get some playing time in Serie A as he is closing in on a move to Lecce, a report claims.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Lecce are expected to strengthen their attack with the arrival of Colombo as they look to establish themselves in the top flight again having won Serie B last season with 71 points.

The report mentions that it will be a simple loan formula (therefore no option or obligation to buy mentioned) for Colombo, who joins the Puglia-based club after spending the last season at SPAL in Serie B, collecting 34 appearances and 6 goals.

It certainly appears to be a good fit on paper given that Colombo is in search of minutes in the top tier to really test his development, while Lecce predominantly play a 4-3-3 formation which means he should get chance to operate as a centre-forward.
