Di Marzio: Ziyech to Milan ‘only a matter of time’ – De Ketelaere could arrive too

Hakim Ziyech should join AC Milan this summer and a deal seems to be just a matter of time, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ziyech has been linked with a move to Milan for the last few weeks now with the Rossoneri having tried for him in the summer of 2021 and after another disappointing season under Thomas Tuchel it could be the right time for him to leave Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s efforts to sign Raphinha and/or Raheem Sterling suggest that they are looking to make changes in the attack and that could certainly help Milan in their pursuit of Ziyech. A deal is not imminent but Di Marzio believes

“Ziyech wants to leave Chelsea. I think Chelsea want to sell Ziyech,” he told Wettfreunde (via SportWitness).

“I think it’s only a matter of time. He has already said ‘OK’ to Milan’s solution, but they need to make an agreement with Chelsea; the right way, maybe a loan with an option to buy, maybe a buy deal.

“The problem is his high salary: €6m net. That is very, very high for Italian football. Milan are working on two offers, Ziyech and [Charles] De Ketelaere. They could get both of them if they sell someone in those positions. There is a good relationship between Chelsea and Milan.”
