Di Stefano ahead of Samp clash: “Today’s training went very well for Ibrahimovic”

By Isak Möller -

By the looks of it, Zlatan Ibrahimovic could make his second full debut for AC Milan on Monday afternoon, as they take on Sampdoria. Given that he arrived on Thursday, it would be something special.

The 38-year-old, who has presented himself in an excellent condition at Milanello, doesn’t want to waste any time. Therefore, he is pushing to play from start in Monday’s clash, and according to MilanNews.it his chances are increasing.

Having watched the Swede during yesterday’s friendly game, as well as the training session today, Peppe Di Stefano spoke live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) about the possibilities of seeing him from the first minute.

“Today’s training went very well for Ibrahimovic, while yesterday it went pretty well. Ibra’s reaction has been extremely positive. The certainty is that he will play, now the doubt is whether to start him on the bench or the pitch.

“He has the chances to play from the first minute, it will depend on tomorrow’s training session and how he will feel on Monday morning,” the reporter concluded.

Based on those words, his chances are pretty good, especially since Kris Piatek has failed to assert himself in the starting line-up in the last few weeks. In any case, Ibrahimovic will certainly make an appearance, it’s just a matter of how.
