Di Stefano: ‘Positive’ mood at Milanello despite Roma defeat – “Milan have the strength”

AC Milan lost the first leg against Roma in the Europa League quarter-final, making things more difficult for the decider away from home. However, as stated by Peppe Di Stefano, the mood is positive at Milanello as they believe in the comeback.

It was indeed a very poor performance by the Rossoneri and Roma deservedly came away with the win. They are only ahead by the odd goal, though, so the tie is still very much open and optimism is filtering from Milanello.

Speaking live on Sky Italia earlier this morning, as cited by MilanNews, the Milan correspondent Peppe Di Stefano shared his thoughts on the mood. He also revealed the program for tomorrow’s encounter with Sassuolo, scheduled for 15:00 CEST.

“The day will be divided into two parts, Milan will meet for lunch and then train in the afternoon. After that, they will leave for Reggio Emilia. The mood appears to be positive, the Rossoneri suffered the defeat and perhaps got a bit lucky losing just 0-1, given the many errors.

“Milan have the strength to overturn the result, thanks to the experience and last matches played in Rome, even if the matter is more complicated due to the Giallorossi’s lead. However, the Rossoneri have players who can do well and be decisive: I think of Theo or Leao who I consider champions of this team,” he stated,

Many changes are expected to the starting XI, as confirmed this morning, and this should mean that the Rossoni will have a lot of energy on Thursday. At the Olimpico, however, it will not be easy to turn things around.
