Di Stefano offers reassurance about Milan’s mercato: “They will finalise shots”

By Ben Dixon -

The mercato has been open for nearly two weeks, but AC Milan are yet to finalise any first-team signings. However, there is no need to panic, and Peppe Di Stefano has commented on the situation, offering some reassurance to the fans.

In any summer where tournament football is ongoing, the window will reflect the lack of players with their respective clubs, and Milan know this better than anyone.

Ahead of the European Championship, the Rossoneri had several players set to leave for their international duties whilst interest was present in their respective services. Through the tournament, any interest in these players has been met with a reply of, ‘After the tournament, the player will make a decision’. Unfortunately, that is also the situation when buying players.

Di Stefano offered some information on Milan’s mercato movements when speaking to Sky Sport earlier today, and his comments have been relayed by Milan News.

“After a period of study, analysis and negotiations made under the table, from the beginning of next week, Milan will begin to finalise some shots. In addition to Morata, there are other slightly less close targets: Pavlovic, a 2001 Serbian defender and Fofana, a very physical 1999 midfielder.

“The Rossoneri have already found the agreement with the Frenchman, the one with Monaco is missing. The discussion for Pavlovic is different, with some reflections in progress.”

  1. Last summer we got players in fast. I guess people expect this summer would be similar. I know I was. And it isn’t. It looks like a hot mess from the outside. No direction and no idea, except one..pinch pennies.

    1. Di Stefano is working for the ACM management, and his word reflect this. “The discussion for Pavlovic is different, with some reflections in progress.” Di Stefano what does this mean reflections in progress?
Moncada is he confident in his project or unsure of the type of players needed?
Di Stefano last season this problem of interference didn’t exist with Milan. Pioli hire fringe players that gave us unsuccessful season. Will history repeat itself again at our club, please tell us?
