Sankhoun Diawara is officially a new AC Milan player, and he has given his first statements after signing with the club.

After undergoing his medical tests and signing his contract at Casa Milan on Tuesday, the 20-year-old defender was officially unveiled as a new signing in a statement put out by the club this morning.

The new arrival is already leaving for Perth, Australia, where he will join Ruben Amorim and his new team-mates to continue the preseason preparation he began with his former club Troyes.

‘Etched in my mind forever’

In the social media post with which Milan announced the signing, Diawara also released his first comments as a Rossoneri player.

“I think the day I see San Siro will remain etched in my mind forever. I can’t wait to make my debut and meet the Rossoneri fans, my teammates, and all the staff,” he said.

“I’ve loved football since I was little, and little by little, I’m realising my childhood dream. I was born with a ball at my feet, and every time I step onto the pitch, I do it to give 200%.”

As a reminder, the initial reports claimed that the France U19 international would be a Futuro signing, but it is now being stated that he will be the new deputy to Strahinja Pavlovic.
