Diaz says Milan must ‘play like Milan’ to beat Salzburg and reach knockout phase

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Salzburg, Brahim Diaz spoke to the media about what the Rossoneri must do to beat the Austrian side. As we know, a draw is enough for Milan to advance to the next round.

Brahim Diaz has done really well for Milan lately, but he won’t play from the first minute as Stefano Pioli has opted for a more versatile player in Rade Krunic. Still, it’s likely we will see the Spaniard on the pitch tonight.

Speaking to Prime Video, as cited by MilanNews, the Rossoneri No.10 was asked about the game and what his teammates must do to come away successful from the clash. He admitted that it won’t be easy.

“It’s an important game, we have to play the whole game with a winning mentality. They have strong players up front, we have to be good at not losing the ball and giving them counter-attacks.

“It wasn’t easy in Salzburg, but now we are ready to face them. Playing at the San Siro is incredible. We are a great team, these are games that everyone wants to play. How do you beat Salzburg? Playing like Milan.”

The game is scheduled for 21:00 CET and San Siro is sold out, meaning it will be a great atmosphere in the stadium from the first to the last minute this evening. As it always has been this and last season.
