Former AC Milan goalkeeper Dida believes that the club have pulled of a great coup by signing Leo Duarte from Flamengo.
Duarte arrived in Milano on Wednesday ahead of his €11million move to Milan to undergo a medical, and he was greeted by former Rossoneri star Serginho.
He is yet to be official announced, but Dida has echoed the sentiments of his former team-mate and compatriot Serginho, insisting that he is great value for money.
“He’ll have to adapt to Italian football, but he’s a good defender who did very well last season,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Of course, he’ll have to learn the tactical guidelines well, but lately in Brazil great progress has been made in teaching the defensive phase.
“Leo, in terms of value for money, is undoubtedly a great deal for Milan. After that, it’s a bit easier for a defender to adapt to the Italian League than it is for a striker.
“His strong points are his pace, combined with his quality, which is pretty clear.”
