Nelson Dida believes that he did everything that he could do in order to help Gianluigi Donnarumma and Mike Maignan grow at AC Milan.
Dida is one of the most iconic goalkeepers of his time, and is best known for his ten-year stint with Milan from 2000 to 2010, where he won several major trophies including the Scudetto and the Champions League (twice).
His heroics were perhaps highest in the 2003 final against Serie A rivals Juventus as he saved three penalties in the shootout to help Milan lift the UCL trophy. He is one of four Milan keepers with 300 career appearances, and returned as the goalkeeping coach from 2020 to 2022.
Dida was interviewed by Radio Serie A and he was asked about the training sessions with Donnarumma first and then Maignan when, a few years ago, he was on the Milan goalkeeping coaching staff.
“I taught Maignan and Donnarumma everything I knew to make them better goalkeepers. In every game they took to the field I tried to give them more information that could help them grow,” he said (via MilanNews).
“In training I always tried to make them feel confident because this is fundamental for goalkeepers: always having confidence.”
Oh so THAT’S why Maignan can’t keep out shots at his near post… And what’s he talking about confidence? His turned to jelly after a flare bounced off his head in a champions league tie in Glasgow if I remember rightly but Ancelotti insisted on keeping him as our #1 for the next 6 years…
“the goalkeeping coach from 2020 to 2022.”
He was Maignan GK’s coach for one season, which happened to be Maignan’s best season as a goalkeeper.
Ah okay I missed that bit..
Yes, you insult Dida every time. We noticed you’re special.
And Donnarumma also won best goalkeeper of Serie A 2020-21, where a year later was won by his successor, Maignan as you mentioned. So overall I agree that Dida did a good job then.
Guy hates Dida and thinks he was’t a good keeper 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What the f**k is your problem with Dida and Mike??? Lol
This clawn
Remember that😆 more impressive were the delayed theatricals.
