AC Milan have completed the signing of Colombian goalkeeper Devis Vasquez, as reported by various sources this afternoon. It comes as a rather big surprise since the player hasn’t previously been linked with the club.
Milan’s goalkeeping issues are evident and the management has thus decided to take action on the market. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Rossoneri have reached an agreement with his club Guarani over a permanent transfer.
The 24-year-old has likely been picked up by Milan’s scouting department, led by Geoffrey Moncada, and the Rossoneri saw an opportunity for relatively little money. It remains to be seen what his position in the pecking order will be.
He will undergo his medical tests tomorrow and he will then return to South America, before travelling to Italy again on the 10th of January.
If it’s Moncada’s recommendation then I think he’s gonna come good but I didn’t see this one coming in all honesty.
Head scratcher. For a backup an Italian GK with Serie A experience would have been ideal as it would help with the homegrown list in Europe. Oh well.
What does Italian goalkeeper with seria A experience has to do with goal keeping. Our keeper that won the best keeper last season never played in seria A and he
The important part of my comment is the Champions league list, hence the part that mentions Italian nationality, so that we don’t have to take a non-EU citizen off of it (I’m going to be generous and concede that he doesn’t have to be Italian, but an EU citizen). Finally, what’s the point of getting a player that isn’t ready to play immediately, i.e., having an understanding of the language of the squad (most likely Italian), familiarity with league opponents, and familiarity with the way the game is played in this particular league, since we still don’t have our no. 1 available, and his two backups are obviously not up to scratch? Yes, Mike was an almost immediate success, but this is not a 15m transfer for a starting GK that had already been a league champion in Europe. Noob.
Oh yeah, let me add that we’re using one of our two non-EU signing slots for a sub goalkeeper.
Hahahahaha yea it’s obvious why media didn’t know. Every time Milan is linked to a player their price goes up, duh. Keep making the fake stories up. I guess it works. People still think we were trying hard for Sanches during the summer smh
Reaching much?
Milan signed a GK no one has ever heard of from a club no one has ever heard of for a couple thousand Euros. He may never even play a single game for Milan. Media didn’t know because he isn’t a known player.
When you are in negotiations for known players, information comes out thru agents and intermediaries. Renato Sanches agent Jorge Mendes is probably the top agent in football.
It’s OK, Maldini couldn’t sign Renato Sanches, we don’t have to pretend like he wasn’t trying to, just because he failed
How is that a reach? Some of the best signings have been done without what the media has been “guessing” and being wrong on many many occasions. No one knew about Theo,Kalulu or Maignan for that matter.and neither was picked up in the media. Just like what’s happening now. All we heard was Sportiello and Cragno when really and truly Milan been working on a totally different target. Even Tomori was a surprise even as a loan. Word didn’t get out until very very late. Sometimes the media just prolong a story for clicks when in reality alot of the times they have absolutely no clue. Maldini had spoken about the Sanches/Botman situation earlier in the summer when all the speculation was ongoing and still the media here and elsewhere kept dragging the story out even though Maldini clearly said he went for Botman and failed but for Sanches they were looking at other options.and didn’t pursue him. Yet still the narrative stuck that we were in for Sanches for longer than ppl think.
Milan is still signing Sportiello , thats not made up rumor by media. They just don’t want to pay Atalanta 5 million to get him 6 months earlier. That’s why they are signing this GK.
We absolutely heard rumors about Theo and Kalulu before they signed. We saw pictures of Theo and Maldini in Ibiza.
Kalulu was rumored for a while, and they waited on him to decide if he wanted to leave Lyon or not, just like Tanguy Nianzou, who chose Bayern over Milan.
Maignan was also rumored a little bit towards the end of Gigio’s last season, and they moved quickly on him because Roma was about to snatch him.
Tomori was a last-minute signing and their plan D or F that January, after they got turned down for Simakan, Kabak, Todibo, Christensen, Anderson.
Milan was on both Botman and Sanches. They got priced out for Botman, and for Sanches, the PSG appointment of his ex Lille coach and SD change the situation otherwise he was coming to Milan, supposedly he even visited Milanello.
Media doesn’t just come up with random names for no reason. They get their infos from the agents and intermediaries, not from Milan.
@IKWYDLS
Dude, don’t bother arguing with this clueless baboons.
Andrea judgalma… kasih jam untuk bermain…
I don’t know what you said, but if you’re saying they should give Andreas Jungdal a chance then I’d agree.
I just dont get it why would we fill our nonEU spot for another GK? why cant we find a decent Italian GK to fill that spot instead?
