Di Marzio: Milan move blocked as Chelsea make U-turn on defender

By Isak Möller -

Trevoh Chalobah has been linked with both AC Milan and Inter over the last few days, as he seemed destined to leave Chelsea on a loan. However, the English side have now changed their mind, a report claims.

Just this morning, the reliable Antonio Vitiello reported that Milan were the frontrunners to sign Chalobah on loan amid the arrival of Wesley Fofana at Chelsea. It’s a move that made a lot of sense but it won’t materialise.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have changed their mind and are no longer convinced of letting Chalobah leave, as evidenced by the starting spit this afternoon. In fact, the player’s agent has already told Milan and Inter that a move is unlikely.

Milan will thus have to turn attention elsewhere and it seems Schalke 04’s Malick Thiaw could be the one. Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham remains an option as well, but time is running out for the Rossoneri.
