Di Marzio: Milan only discussed Florenzi in today’s meeting with Roma

By Isak Möller -

Earlier today, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had a meeting with the Roma director Tiago Pinto. This didn’t just confirm the imminent Alessandro Florenzi transfer, but also fuelled links with Niccolo Zaniolo.

The Rossoneri had a meeting with Roma to define the purchase of Florenzi, who has been on loan at the club since last summer. The final fee will be around €2.5m, which is a great deal considering the player’s performances this past season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan only discussed Florenzi during the meeting and there are no confirmations for the other names, such as Zaniolo and Roger Ibanez. The two parties have excellent relations, but only Florenzi was discussed.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the future but an axis between the clubs shouldn’t be ruled out, given the excellent relations. It’s not something that Maldini and Massara are working on now, though.
