Di Marzio: Milan outline ‘Plan B’ as they could secure Botman for the summer

Sven Botman has been heavily linked with AC Milan ever since the transfer window opened, which is understandable given the Rossoneri’s defensive crisis. The operation is difficult, but there is a Plan B ready.

Simon Kjaer will miss the rest of the season, as we all know, and Fikayo Tomori might miss the derby after the international break. The situation is far from ideal, therefore, and thus Milan are looking at their options.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, Botman tops their wish list and there have been contacts with Lille in recent days. The French side have made it clear that they want to keep him but Milan are pushing for the move.

Should there be no opening at all for a January move, then the Rossoneri have a ‘Plan B’ outlined. The idea would then be to secure Botman for the summer, leaving him on loan at Lille for the rest of the season to avoid the competition in six months.

It would be similar to the Yacine Adli operation, but with a six-month loan instead of a 12-month one. The report also states that Milan still are working on loan solutions as well, with new contacts expected with Tottenham over Tanganga on Monday.
