Dionisi admits Sassuolo ‘could sell’ Milan target Frattesi: “It is normal”

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo head coach Alessio Dionisi was asked about the possibility of Davide Frattesi being sold in the summer amid links with a move to AC Milan, and he far from ruled it out.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) stated that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara believe Frattesi could be the perfect profile to reinforce a midfield department that needs some help.

He is a midfielder who knows how to operate in both phases, he is young with room to grow, he is Italian which helps when compiling squad lists and he is even able to lend a hand with goal contributions. A price of €20m was mentioned, too.

As MilanNews reports, Dionisi was asked if he would be willing to stay at Sassuolo even in the event of the sale of Frattesi and/or Domenico Berardi, who have arguably been their most important duo over the past couple of seasons.

“Those who work at Sassuolo know what the objectives are. Stay in Serie A, then enhance the player base. How? With our style of play. If that brings out the best in the players by reaching the first objective, it is normal,” he began.

“It is normal that they are in demand, it is also normal for me to know that the club could sell them. This is an extra stimulus that the kids must have, it being understood that whoever is here must feel privileged.

“Anyone who agrees to coach this team must accept these things, you have to be aware of this because on the other side it doesn’t seem to me that this turnover is fully understood, but it’s normal that there is, it doesn’t seem to me that the club is static, if they sell they buy and so it will always be for me.”

  1. We should get Berardi to the right. Yes, he is not 23 yeard old, but would be a reliable right winger with 10 goals per season for the next 2-3 campaigns..
