Milan have relied on several key players this season, in addition to the team effort, and one of them is certainly Franck Kessie. Almost never absent from the starting XI, he has been absolutely crucial.
And with his performances this season, the Ivorian has attracted interest from several clubs and it’s not a secret that Milan want to renew his contract. The current deal will expire in 2022 and there is optimism that an agreement can be reached.
In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by PianetaMilan, Milan legend Roberto Donadoni revealed what has surprised him the most with Kessie. He also suggested that this was the final piece to make him complete.
“Kessie leader? That’s the aspect that struck me most about him: we knew that he was a player with an extraordinary physicality, but this year he added a strong personality. It has made him complete,” he stated.
While Kessie has been important, he needs his teammates to perform too in order to get out of the negative trend. Therefore, tomorrow’s game against Fiorentina will be crucial to understand where the team is form-wise (and mentally).
