Donadoni on ‘decisive’ Reijnders for Milan-Juventus: “All he needs is a goal”

By Isak Möller -

The former AC Milan manager Roberto Donadoni spoke to the media this morning about the big clash against Juventus tonight. He believes that Tijjani Reijnders will be the key man.

Reijnders has indeed started the season very well for Milan and has also earned himself a starting spot with the Dutch national team. Against a strong defensive side like Juve tonight, his movement between the lines could be crucial.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Donadoni shared his thoughts on the big game and singled out Reijnders as one of the key players. All that is missing is the goal.

“My Milan lived for games like this, competing against great rivals was almost a necessity for us: I expect the same approach from Pioli’s team. Juve have often given me the impression of wanting to control the game, today they will need aggression. Simply waiting for the moves of others is dangerous, the Bianconeri’s latest defeats against Milan demonstrate this.

“Who will be decisive? I say Reijnders. In his start with Milan, he has shown that he really knows how to do everything. All he needs is a goal, so…”

Reijnders will team up with Yacine Adli and Yunus Musah in midfield, as Rade Krunic isn’t ready to start yet. Hopefully, the entire midfield will do well as it’s a department that could decide tonight’s clash.
