Donnarumma congratulates Milan on the Scudetto and reiterates: “There is no regret”

By Isak Möller -

Gigio Donnarumma decided to leave AC Milan ahead of this past season as his contract with the club expired. His adventure at Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing, but he has no regrets.

The 23-year-old rejected Milan’s renewal offer after what had been a very successful season, securing the return to Champions League with a second-place finish. He signed for Paris Saint-German on a free transfer and he has had to fight there.

In addition to sitting on the bench a lot, Donnarumma has already made a considerable amount of mistakes between the sticks. Speaking at the press conference during international duty (via Di Marzio), he congratulated Milan on the Scudetto and said he has no regrets.

“After winning the title in France, the perfect year was completed with Milan’s Scudetto and I congratulate them, they did an incredible job and I’m proud of them. There is no regret,” he stated.

In truth, Milan probably don’t have any regrets either even if it did hurt to lose him on a free transfer. One could argue that Mike Maignan has done even better in his first season than Donnarumma’s last with the club, and the fact that it was the cheaper solution softens the blow as well.

  1. If money is the most important thing in his life and he got the amount he wanted in PSG than it’s understandable that he doesn’t feel any regret. He achieved his goal.
At the same time Milan doesn’t feel regret either (besides the transfer fee they could have collected if they sold him) because Milan achieved their goal , pay GK according to the value of that position and win the Scudetto.
    Win Win for both sides

  2. Only regrets is not making $$ of his sale. That’s it. Mike is our leader and thankful for him. This kid cannot stop talking about Milan and constantly wants to remind everyone he has “no regrets” lol. He’s like an ex-boyfriend who still talks about his ex-girlfriend who dumped him. Get over it. We have moved on and are happy. He should do the same.

    1. To be completely honest, I don’t think he wants to talk about Milan but the media constantly is asking him questions about Milan. Milan doing great without him certainly gives the media even more fuel to go at him

    2. exactly! why is he in the news all of a sudden! mike washed our tears away! he won the best keeper award, kept more clean sheets AND won the scudetto too! he should just shut up for once.

  3. Rossoneri fans are happy you left the Milan. Can you imagine the serenity since Dollaruma left.

We don’t have regrets only happiness that Dollaruma left Milan

    1. i mean, by this time, his agents antics would have been all over the news! He would be ranting about how donnaruma saved us, is managing to endure our small ambitions and how his influence is at par with Ibra’s.
Raiola was one tough customer, God rest his soul.

  4. So Donnarumma has no regrets on how he left Milan without a compensation for making him the start he is? Yeah. That’s no surprise. Ungrateful SOB.
