There were some encouraging words from AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on Thursday night as he professed his love for the club.
The Rossoneri face another crossroads regarding the future of their prized shot stopper just as they did back in 2017. With Donnarumma’s deal set to expire in 2021, they must either agree a renewal ahead of next season or sell him this summer, so as to at least generate a transfer fee from his sale.
Nonetheless, the 21-year-old continues to be one of Milan’s most consistent performers which has led to suggestions that a number of different clubs are circling, including the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Juventus.
Donnarumma did a Q&A with the Rossoneri supporters, and his quotes were transcribed by ANSA before being relayed by MilanNews.
“The Rossoneri colours mean so much to me because I grew up here, I have always been a fan of Milan and I can not help but give my best for this shirt,” he said.
“The first objective is that of the club and which we set ourselves at the beginning of the season, the personal one is to always give our best and try to concede as few goals as possible.”
Donnarumma then revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is the most dangerous forward he has faced: “I have faced great forwards but what I feared most has always been him.”
On how he is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, he added: “I’m at home like everyone else, I’m training here”. (HANDLE).
The full Q&A will be revealed in full tomorrow from 13:00 CET on the club’s official channels.
