Donnarumma says AC Milan showed ‘great strength’ and insists their goal is Europe

By Isak Möller -

At the end of today’s clash between Brescia and Milan, which the latter won by one goal to nil, Gigio Donnarumma spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) about the team’s performance and the goals of the season.

The goalkeeper put in a MOTM performance (read our ratings) this evening as he made several crucial saves, keeping his side in the game. Certainly, he deserves a lot of credit for the win even though Ante Rebic scored the winner (again).

“It’s a Milan that knows how to suffer, coming here was not easy. It took a great showing of strength, we are really happy.

“The defensive phase? We are more compact, we work a lot in training. The merit belongs to the whole team,” he began.

Donnarumma was also asked about the club’s goals for the season, insisting that they want European qualification. Of course, the number one priority remains the Champions League, given how important the competition is for the club in every aspect.

“Our goal is Europe, we must continue like this, we can’t relax. Another battle awaits us in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday”.

“We take it game by game, we don’t stop, we go on and we hope to win as many games as possible,” he concluded.

On Tuesday evening, the Rossoneri will take on Torino in the quarter-finals of Coppa Italia. Hopefully, Donnarumma will continue his good form, as having a goalkeeper in red-hot form is never a bad thing.
